Everton v BWFC Saturday 18th November 2006

Well I have to say I'm now getting worried. No win in 5 games now. And it's not that we're playing that badly, it's just the same old story - we can't finish. Once again we made several good opportunities but failed to convert them. On the balance of play we should have won comfortably. As I said I'm now a worried man. We've got some tough fixtures coming up........ Sammy Lee thinks the Champions League is still achievable - well we'll need to learn how to finish before we can feel confident of such giddy heights. Even if we do sign Beckham!

Bolton were dominant and looked dead certs to bag three points until Arteta pissed on our party. He was by far their best player wearing his best shooting boots. Dioufy did well for us but alas couldn't find the net. Idan Tal showed how good a left foot he has in a promising display. Nobby was enjoying his first day as a dad - congratulations to the Nolan's - could be on top of the pops in a few years singing long haired lover from Liverpool.

After the goal it was us who enjoyed the majority of possession andthe best of our chances of the half fell to Ivan Campo but the midfielder's right-footed volley flew wide of Tim Howard's goal. After the break we definitely looked the more dominant but to no avail.

Bolton piled on the pressure late on, with Ivan Campo seeing a header strike the top of the crossbar and an Idan Tal shot hammered against the post. Everton though held out for only their second win in nine games

Well we're now down to sixth a point above Everton. Only two points separate Portsmouth in third and our boys. It's not doom and gloom yet, but I can't help a growing concern. Come on Sam, do your magic with Anelka and make him the scoring machine we paid £8.5m for. If only AJ hadn't changed his mind... At this moment I'd even welcome Beckham as long as Posh isn't allowed in the ground. Mind you we could always set Dioufy onto her.......

Meanwhile Nobby denied rumours that he was off to Everton in some sort of switch deal for Beattie.... It's all happening, but sadly not in the opposing goal mouth.

Match report by the Editor  (who still can't be bothered writing them when we lose when we should have won! Again. Fuckety fuck.)
